Hong Kong China Smart Energy officially joined the China Oil and Gas Enterprise Methane Control and Emission Alliance
On June 27, Ganghua Smart Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Ganghua Smart Energy) officially joined the China Oil and Gas Enterprise Methane Control and Emission Alliance (hereinafter referred to as Methane Control Alliance) after voting by all members of the China Oil and Gas Enterprise Methane Control and Emission Alliance. platoon alliance).
The Methane Emission Control Alliance was jointly initiated by PetroChina, Sinopec, and CNOOC. It was established in Beijing on May 18, 2021, and has grown to 10 member companies. The Methane Emission Control Alliance promises to take a series of actions to comprehensively improve the level of methane emission control, and strive to reduce the average methane emission intensity of the natural gas production process to less than 0.25% by 2025, which is close to the world’s advanced level, and strive to reach the world’s first-class level by 2035. Hong Kong China Smart Energy will join hands with other alliance members to strengthen cooperation with the whole industry, actively promote the action of methane emission control in the whole industry chain, demonstrate the responsibility of Chinese enterprises, and enhance the influence of Chinese oil and gas enterprises in global climate governance.
In October 2021, Hong Kong and China Gas Co., Ltd., the parent company of Hong Kong-China Smart Energy, signed the “Proposal for Methane Control and Emission Control of Chinese City Gas Enterprises”, and joined the International Methane Emission Reduction Organization – Methane Emission Reduction in April 2022 Guiding Principles Partnership (MGP). The Group actively responds to the national carbon reduction requirements, attaches great importance to and pays close attention to the relevant standards and technological frontiers of methane emission control, and has completed the measurement of the CO2 equivalent of the group’s methane emissions and the deployment of actual measurement methods. Through management optimization, new technologies, new materials and new equipment It focuses on the control of methane emissions in natural gas transmission, distribution and application.
