Directa Plus launches graphene-embedded polyurethane film for textile and apparel

Latest News: Directa Plus has been awarded a US patent for a graphene-embedded polyurethane film developed for the textile industry, its production method and application.

The company, which makes graphene nanosheet-based products for consumer and industrial markets, said in a statement that it received a license notice from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office with a priority date of May 5, 2017.

Expected to be officially granted patents in the near future, Directa Plus’ intellectual property (IP) system will include 20 patent families, of which 80 have been granted and 30 are pending.

Plus claims: Graphene-embedded polyurethane membrane combines breathability and water resistance with thermal and electrical conductivity. They are non-toxic, non-cytotoxic, safe for the skin and can be used in the apparel sector, including sportswear, workwear, military, luxury goods and accessories.

In addition, it is developing films for the automotive, filtration and interior decoration markets.
